Ingredients
Scale
- 4 salmon fillets
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- ¼ cup honey
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- Salt to taste
- Fresh lemon juice
- Fresh herbs (like parsley or green onions) for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Cajun Honey Butter: In a small saucepan, melt ½ cup of unsalted butter over medium heat. Stir in ¼ cup of honey and 2 tablespoons of Cajun seasoning, and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Preheat the skillet: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat with a splash of oil.
- Season the salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry and season both sides with salt and more Cajun seasoning if desired.
- Cook the salmon: Place the fillets skin-side down in the skillet. Sear for 4-5 minutes, flip carefully, and brush the Cajun honey butter on top. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, basting with the butter.
- Finishing touches: Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the salmon just before serving, and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
- Garnish and serve: Sprinkle freshly chopped herbs on top for a pop of color and taste.
Notes
Pair with jasmine rice or garlic sautéed spinach for a complete meal. Allow salmon to rest before serving for even better flavor.
