- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your cupcake tin with liners.
- Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- Beat the softened butter and sugar together until creamy and light. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully blended.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Scoop the batter into the prepared liners, filling each about two-thirds full.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 15–18 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Try adding chocolate chips or nuts for extra texture. Serve with your favorite frosting.
