  • 1/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your cupcake tin with liners.
  2. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  3. Beat the softened butter and sugar together until creamy and light. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully blended.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  5. Scoop the batter into the prepared liners, filling each about two-thirds full.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15–18 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Try adding chocolate chips or nuts for extra texture. Serve with your favorite frosting.
