Description

Delightful Cinnamon Sugar Cruffins with a sweet Vanilla Glaze, perfect for sharing with family and friends.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup whole milk, warm
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
  • 23 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Warm your milk in a small saucepan until it’s lukewarm. Remove from heat and sprinkle the yeast over the top. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl. Create a well in the center, and pour in the yeast mixture along with the beaten eggs and melted butter. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, until it’s smooth and elastic. Place in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let rise until doubled in size—about 1 hour.
  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle approximately ½ inch thick. Brush melted butter over the surface and sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top. Roll tightly from one end to the other, forming a log. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces.
  5. Grease a muffin tin and place a rolled piece into each cup, cut side up. Allow to rise again for about 30 minutes, covered with a towel.
  6. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the cruffins for 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Whisk together powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk for the glaze until smooth. Drizzle over warm cruffins.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored at room temperature for up to 2 days. Can also be frozen for up to 3 months.
