Description
A creamy and coffee-flavored dessert that layers mascarpone and ladyfingers in a delightful experience.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup espresso or strong brewed coffee
- 24 ladyfingers (Savoiardi)
- 1 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 egg yolks
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
Instructions
- Prepare the coffee: Brew a strong pot of espresso or coffee. Let it cool slightly.
- Whip the cream: In a mixing bowl, use a hand mixer to whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
- Mix the mascarpone: In another bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, sugar, and egg yolks. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Fold in the whipped cream: Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture.
- Dip the ladyfingers: Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee, allowing them to soak briefly.
- Layer it up: In a serving dish, add a layer of soaked ladyfingers, followed by a layer of the mascarpone mixture. Repeat until you reach the top of the dish.
- Dust with cocoa: Dust the top with cocoa powder. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight.
- Serve and enjoy: Slice into squares and serve as desired.
Notes
Letting the tiramisu sit overnight allows flavors to meld beautifully. Avoid over-soaking the ladyfingers.
