- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup toffee bits
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- Fleur de sel or flaky sea salt, for sprinkling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each, and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Whisk together flour and baking soda in another bowl, then gradually blend this into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the toffee bits and dark chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, leaving space in between each.
- Sprinkle a tiny pinch of flaky sea salt over each dollop.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden, allowing the centers to remain slightly underbaked.
- Cool cookies on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
Notes
Chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking for thicker cookies, and rotate baking sheets halfway through for even baking.
