- 200g high-quality semi-sweet or dark chocolate
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 3 large eggs
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Melt the chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water until smooth. Let it cool slightly.
- Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, then gently fold in the cooled melted chocolate.
- Prepare the eggs by whisking them with sugar until pale and slightly thickened.
- Combine the egg mixture into the chocolate and cream gently until just combined.
- Chill the mousse in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to set.
- Serve with whipped cream and chocolate shavings if desired.
Notes
For a dairy-free option, use coconut cream instead of heavy cream. To make it vegan, substitute eggs with aquafaba.
