Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or cooking spray.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the unsalted butter and allow it to cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar, whisking until smooth and creamy.
- Incorporate the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Mix until well blended.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, being careful not to overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, smoothing it out evenly.
- Bake for about 20-25 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the brownies to cool in the pan before transferring them to a wire rack.
- For the frosting, beat the unsalted butter until light and fluffy, then gradually add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract.
- Divide the frosting into bowls and mix in food coloring to create vibrant hues.
- Once the brownies are cool, frost them using the colorful buttercream.
