Description

Deliciously rich and fudgy brownies topped with vibrant and colorful buttercream frosting, perfect for holiday celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Food coloring (gel preferred)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 1/4 cup milk (or cream, for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or cooking spray.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the unsalted butter and allow it to cool slightly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar, whisking until smooth and creamy.
  4. Incorporate the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Mix until well blended.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, being careful not to overmix.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, smoothing it out evenly.
  8. Bake for about 20-25 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan before transferring them to a wire rack.
  10. For the frosting, beat the unsalted butter until light and fluffy, then gradually add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract.
  11. Divide the frosting into bowls and mix in food coloring to create vibrant hues.
  12. Once the brownies are cool, frost them using the colorful buttercream.
