Description
Juicy meatballs packed with spices, sweetness, and a fiery kick, perfect for family gatherings or as a delightfully smoky appetizer.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, garlic, onion, and herbs in a large bowl. Add the egg to bind everything together and season with salt and pepper.
- Grab a scoop of the mixture and roll it into balls the size of golf balls.
- Arrange the meatballs on a greased baking sheet or lined with parchment paper and bake for about 20 minutes, or until browned and cooked through.
- Whisk together the firecracker sauce ingredients in a bowl while the meatballs bake. Adjust sweetness or spiciness as preferred.
- Toss the cooked meatballs in the sauce until well coated and serve with extra sauce on the side if desired.
- Enjoy each bite, perhaps with rice, noodles, or veggies.
Notes
Consider using ground turkey or a mix of beef and pork for juicier meatballs. For vegetarian options, substitute meat with shredded mushrooms or lentils.
