Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch round cake pan, lining the bottom with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the chocolate and butter together in a double boiler or microwave, stirring until smooth.
  3. Whisk the eggs and granulated sugar together in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  4. Fold the melted chocolate mixture into the egg and sugar mixture along with the vanilla extract and salt.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes until slightly jiggly in the center.
  6. Cool the cake in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack. Dust with cocoa powder or powdered sugar before serving.
