Description

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil (divided)
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme (chopped)
  • Optional toppings: olives, sun-dried tomatoes, sautéed mushrooms

Instructions

  1. Prepare the yeast: In a bowl, mix warm water with yeast, allowing it to sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Combine dry ingredients: In another large bowl, combine the gluten-free flour blend, salt, and half of the olive oil.
  3. Mix wet and dry ingredients: Gradually stir the yeast mixture into the dry ingredients until a thick batter forms.
  4. Let it rise: Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let it rest in a warm spot for approximately 30-40 minutes.
  5. Add flavors: Once the dough has risen, transfer it to an oiled baking dish, dimple the surface, drizzle with remaining olive oil, and sprinkle with sea salt and herbs.
  6. Bake: Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden-brown and crispy.
  7. Cool and serve: Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm with olive oil or enjoy on its own!

Notes

Feel free to substitute gluten-free flour with chickpea or oat flour. Allow the dough to rest for best results.
