Description

Crispy and light tempura-fried halibut, perfectly seasoned and served with a variety of dipping sauces.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh halibut fillets
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1 cup ice-cold water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Garlic powder (optional)
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Optional vegetables (sweet potatoes, zucchini, bell peppers)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Halibut by cutting fillets into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Combine all-purpose flour and cornstarch in a mixing bowl, then gradually whisk in ice-cold water until just mixed.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Dip each piece of halibut into the tempura batter and fry in hot oil for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Drain the fried pieces on paper towels and season with salt before serving.

Notes

Serve immediately with dipping sauces like ponzu or soy sauce for the best flavor.
