Description

Delightfully gooey chocolate cookies that evoke the warmth and joy of winter gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips (dark and semisweet)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Cream the butter and sugars together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the eggs and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
  4. Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Combine the wet and dry mixtures, stirring until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Scoop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1.5 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until slightly undercooked in the center.
  9. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For a thicker cookie, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Feel free to swap butter for coconut oil for a dairy-free option.
