  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and butter a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. Mix the ricotta cheese and sugar in a large bowl until creamy and smooth.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing until incorporated.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract and optional citrus zest.
  5. Incorporate the flour, baking powder, and salt into the ricotta mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Bake for about 45-50 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool for 15 minutes, then dust with powdered sugar and slice.

Notes

For a lighter option, use part-skim ricotta. Can be served with fresh berries or ice cream.
