  4. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and spices in a separate bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing gently.
  6. Fold in the diced pears and nuts (if using), ensuring even distribution.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
