Description
Delicious burger foil packets filled with juicy beef, sautéed mushrooms, and melty Swiss cheese, perfect for any gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
- 8 oz fresh mushrooms, chopped (cremini or button)
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs (thyme or rosemary)
- Burger buns or lettuce wraps
Instructions
- Prepare the foil packets by cutting large sheets of aluminum foil, about 12×12 inches. Use two layers to ensure it’s sturdy.
- Mix the ingredients in a bowl: combine ground beef, chopped mushrooms, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and herbs. Mix well but avoid overworking the meat.
- Form the mixture into burger patties, yielding about four patties.
- Assemble the packets by placing the patties on one half of the foil, adding slices of Swiss cheese on top, then folding over to cover and sealing the edges.
- Grill or bake: Place the foil packets on a preheated grill over medium heat for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway, or bake at 375°F for 25-30 minutes.
- Serve carefully unwrap the packets, and place the burgers on buns with your favorite toppings.
Notes
For best results, use a meat thermometer to ensure burgers reach at least 160°F. Avoid overcrowding packets for optimal cooking.
