Instructions

  1. Prepare the foil packets by cutting large sheets of aluminum foil, about 12×12 inches. Use two layers to ensure it’s sturdy.
  2. Mix the ingredients in a bowl: combine ground beef, chopped mushrooms, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and herbs. Mix well but avoid overworking the meat.
  3. Form the mixture into burger patties, yielding about four patties.
  4. Assemble the packets by placing the patties on one half of the foil, adding slices of Swiss cheese on top, then folding over to cover and sealing the edges.
