- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise (optional)
- 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/4 cup bourbon
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 2 green onions or chives, for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve some drippings for flavor.
- In a mixing bowl, blend the cream cheese, sour cream, and optional mayonnaise until smooth.
- Gradually fold in the maple syrup and bourbon, mixing well.
- Stir in the grated cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon, reserving some bacon for topping.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish, sprinkle the reserved bacon on top, and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes.
- Garnish with sliced green onions or chives before serving with tortilla chips, veggies, or baguette slices.
Notes
Use block cheese and grate it yourself for a creamier result. Serve hot for maximum flavor.
