Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.
- Melt a tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and celery, sautéing until softened (about 5-6 minutes).
- Stir in the minced garlic and mushrooms, cooking until tender and fragrant (around 5 minutes). Season with salt, pepper, and herbs.
- Add the cubed panettone to the skillet with the sautéed mixture.
- Crumble the Italian sausage into the skillet, browning it for 7-8 minutes before combining it with the panettone mixture.
- Pour in the chicken broth and mix gently, ensuring the bread is moist but not soggy.
- Beat the eggs in a small bowl and add them to the mixture.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until the top is golden and crispy.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
