  • 8 oz Cremini Mushrooms, sliced
  • 8 oz Button Mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 4 cups Beef Broth
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Egg Noodles or Mashed Potatoes for serving

Instructions

  1. Begin by slicing your beef into bite-sized pieces and trimming off excess fat.
  2. Wash and slice your choice of mushrooms, and chop some onion and garlic.
  3. Heat a little oil in a skillet and brown the beef on all sides (optional).
  4. Place the browned beef into your slow cooker, followed by mushrooms, onions, and garlic.
  5. Pour in the beef broth and season generously with salt and pepper.
  6. Set your slow cooker to low and let it cook for 6 to 8 hours.
  7. About half an hour before serving, mix a ladle of the sauce with sour cream in a bowl, then return it to the slow cooker.
  8. Pair with egg noodles or mashed potatoes and finish with freshly chopped parsley.

Notes

For variations, feel free to swap beef with ground beef or mushrooms with shiitake or portobello for a different taste.
