Ingredients

- 4 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
- ½ cup sugar (plus extra for sweetness)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Optional: Cinnamon or nutmeg for added flavor
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix blueberries with ½ cup of sugar and lemon juice. Let sit for 15-20 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well. Stir in milk and melted butter until just combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and distribute the blueberry mixture over the batter without stirring.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and blueberries are bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
- Serve with vanilla ice cream if desired.
Notes
For a twist, add peaches or blackberries. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to three days or freeze for up to three months.
