Instructions

  1. Mix the dough: In a large bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast on top and let it sit until foamy, about 5-10 minutes. Add melted butter, egg, and salt. Mix in flour one cup at a time until a soft dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough: Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth. Place it in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm spot for about an hour, or until doubled in size.
  3. Prepare the filling: While the dough rises, mix together softened butter, sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl.
  4. Roll the dough: Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle. Spread the filling evenly across the dough.
  5. Roll and cut: Roll the dough tightly and slice it into about 12 even pieces. Place them in a greased baking dish.
  6. Second rise: Cover the dish with a cloth and let the rolls rise again until doubled, 30-45 minutes.
  7. Bake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Icing: Mix powdered sugar with milk or cream until smooth, adding vanilla if desired. Drizzle the icing over the warm rolls before serving.
  9. Decorate: For a spooky touch, sprinkle edible glitter or colored sprinkles on top before serving!
