- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup colorful hard candies, crushed
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until just combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and salt, then gradually add to the wet mixture.
- Divide dough into balls about 1 inch in diameter and place them on the prepared baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
- Make an indention in the center of each cookie and fill with crushed candies.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are lightly golden and candies are melted.
- Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Don’t overwork the dough to ensure tender cookies. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
