- 16 large button or cremini mushrooms
- 8 oz (226 g) cream cheese, softened
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp fresh herbs (thyme, parsley, or dill)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan or cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (panko recommended)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the mushrooms by cleaning and removing the stems; chop the stems finely.
- Sauté the onion and garlic in olive oil until softened (about 3-4 minutes).
- Mix the cream cheese, sautéed onions and garlic, chopped stems, herbs, cheese, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Stuff the mushroom caps with the filling generously.
- Top with breadcrumbs and drizzle with olive oil.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and mushrooms are tender.
- Let cool slightly before serving warm.

Feel free to customize the filling with other ingredients like crumbled sausage or spinach for variation.
