Description

A delightful balance of sweet tart cranberries and spicy jalapeños, perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cranberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 23 jalapeños, sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (or honey/agave)
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar (or white vinegar)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Start by prepping your ingredients. Wash the cranberries thoroughly and slice the jalapeños thinly, removing the seeds if you want to tone down the heat.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the cranberries, sugar, vinegar, garlic, and jalapeños. Stir it gently but confidently.
  3. Bring everything to a gentle boil. Keep an eye on it to make sure nothing sticks.
  4. Lower the heat and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes until cranberries burst open.
  5. Once you’ve reached the desired consistency, take it off the heat and let it cool slightly.
  6. Spoon it into sterilized jars for easy storage. Allow it to cool completely before sealing.

Notes

Adjust spices and ingredients to your taste, and avoid overcooking to prevent a mushy texture.
