Description
A delightful balance of sweet tart cranberries and spicy jalapeños, perfect for gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups cranberries (fresh or frozen)
- 2–3 jalapeños, sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar (or honey/agave)
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar (or white vinegar)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Start by prepping your ingredients. Wash the cranberries thoroughly and slice the jalapeños thinly, removing the seeds if you want to tone down the heat.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the cranberries, sugar, vinegar, garlic, and jalapeños. Stir it gently but confidently.
- Bring everything to a gentle boil. Keep an eye on it to make sure nothing sticks.
- Lower the heat and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes until cranberries burst open.
- Once you’ve reached the desired consistency, take it off the heat and let it cool slightly.
- Spoon it into sterilized jars for easy storage. Allow it to cool completely before sealing.
Notes
Adjust spices and ingredients to your taste, and avoid overcooking to prevent a mushy texture.
