Description

A delightful blend of crunchy Chex cereal, savory nuts, and a rich toffee coating that balances sweetness and saltiness, making it a perfect snack for gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 5 cups Chex cereal (Corn, Rice, or Wheat)
  • 1 cup mixed nuts (Walnuts, Pecans, or Almonds)
  • 2 cups pretzels
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 250°F (120°C).
  2. Combine Chex cereal, nuts, and pretzels in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat and stir in the brown sugar and vanilla extract. Bring to a gentle boil and stir continuously for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Add baking soda carefully (the mixture will bubble).
  5. Pour the toffee mixture over the dry ingredients and stir to coat.
  6. Spread the mix evenly onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for about 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
  8. Cool completely before breaking into pieces and storing in an airtight container.

Notes

For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free Chex cereal. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for about two weeks.
