Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 salmon fillet (skin-on)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • Optional herbs (dill, thyme, or rosemary)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your salmon fillet by rinsing it under cold water and patting it dry with paper towels.
  2. Place the salmon skin-side down on a large piece of aluminum foil or a grill pan.
  3. Drizzle olive oil over the salmon, then sprinkle with brown sugar, sea salt, and black pepper. Add herbs if using.
  4. Preheat your Traeger grill to 225°F.
  5. Place the salmon on the grill, skin-side down, and close the lid.
  6. Smoke for approximately 60-90 minutes, checking the internal temperature for doneness.
  7. Remove the salmon when it reaches 145°F or slightly lower for a flakier texture.
  8. Let the salmon rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Experiment with different wood chips for enhanced flavors. Letting the salmon rest is crucial for optimal taste.
