Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Combine flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and baking soda in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Cream together butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in egg and molasses until well combined.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until edges are set but centers are still soft.
  8. Cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. Mix powdered sugar with milk for icing, adjusting consistency as desired.
  10. Drizzle icing over cooled cookies and allow it to set before serving.
